Food Product Inspection, Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance
We provide complete visual inspection, quality assurance, and food safety handling for commercial inventory at our food-grade facility in Kent, Washington. By integrating bulk storage and packaging under one roof, we help brands maintain seamless chain of custody, compliance, and product integrity across all operations.
Visual Inspection & Quality Assurance
We conduct visual inspection, sorting, code checks, and packaging condition reviews according to customer-supplied written criteria.
- Scope of Review: Visual checks, sorting acceptable from damaged units, verifying presence and legibility of codes, and verifying total case counts.
- Holds & Segregation: Non-conforming or damaged product is physically segregated, clearly tagged, and kept out of the release path. No held inventory is reworked, returned, or destroyed without written direction from the product owner.
- Rework & Repacking: Salvageable product identified during inspection can move straight to relabeling or repackaging, avoiding extra handling cycles.
Food Safety & Facility Standards
Our operations are structured around stringent food safety standards to protect product quality at every step:
- Sanitation & Defense: Fully documented sanitation routines, pest management systems, and facility security controls safeguard stored commercial inventory.
- GMP Standards: Operations comply with strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hazard prevention protocols.
- Certifications: Facility food-grade compliance and certification documentation are maintained and available upon request during customer qualification reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of inspection support can KWL provide?
We provide visual inspection, sorting, code verification, packaging condition review and count verification on inventory held at our facility. All work is performed against written criteria that you supply. We are not a laboratory and do not perform analytical testing, microbiological testing or regulatory certification.
How are product holds and disposition instructions handled?
Product placed on hold is physically segregated, clearly identified and removed from the release path. It stays that way until you provide written disposition instructions, which typically means release, rework, repack or return. We do not release, destroy or alter held product based on our own judgment.
Can inspection be combined with repacking or relabeling?
Yes, and combining them is usually more efficient than handling the inventory twice. Inspection frequently determines the scope of a rework project, so scheduling both together lets the rework begin as soon as the sort is complete. Both operations are recorded against the same lots so the inventory history stays continuous.
What traceability information can be maintained?
We maintain records connecting product identity to lot and code information, along with quantities inspected, accepted and held. Inspection outcomes and disposition instructions are recorded against the affected lots. The specific fields captured depend on what information arrives with your product and what your project requires.
